Jacques Israelievitch has been concertmaster of the Toronto Symphony Orchestra since 1988 and has appeared regularly with the orchestra as soloist and conductor. In 1999 he formed the Israelievitch Duo with his son Michael, “a very stylish and subtle musician” according to the Toronto Star. Their joy in performing together is infectious.


Shannon Mercer, soprano

Critically acclaimed by the international press for her music artistry, Shannon Mercer has been hailed as “one of Canada’s most promising young sopranos” and a “Leader of Tomorrow” (Maclean’s). She has performed major roles with the Canadian Opera Company and Opera Atelier, as well as pursuing a concert career at home and in Europe, with a particular interest in baroque and contemporary music.

Elora Festival Singers

Founded by Noel Edison in 1980, the choir is the artistic core of the Elora Festival. Recognized as one of the finest chamber choirs in Canada, the choir’s activities include a winter series in Elora, Toronto and Guelph., in addition to touring across Canada and in the United States. They record regularly, and have 11 releases on the Naxos label alone.

The Janacek Trio

Founded in 2001, the trio has performed frequently in Prague and elsewhere in the Czech Republic and on Czech Radio. They have presented concerts in Paris, Madrid and Germany. All three perform as soloists and chamber players at home and abroad. This is their first visit to Canada.
